John Kyle

Executive Director


John has more than three decades of senior leadership experience with global companies, nonprofits and startups in North America and Europe. He has served as the executive director of the Capital Fellows program since 2013. He is also the executive director of The Fellows Initiative, the national network of fellows programs. In addition to his work in the fellows community, John leads a consulting firm serving small and mid-sized companies and nonprofits. John holds a BS degree from the University of Kentucky where he also is a member of the College of Engineering Hall of Distinction. He also holds an MBA from Heriot Watt University, a Postgraduate Diploma in leadership from the University of Derby, and is pursuing a PhD in business and management at the University of Derby.  John has been an ordained ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America since 1993. He and his wife, Shirley, live in Loudoun County, Virginia.


Lauren Stephens

Assistant Director


As the Assistant Director of Capital Fellows, Lauren coordinates the logistics of our Capital Fellows program and mentors our female Fellows, fostering community and discipleship. Originally from Tennessee, Lauren moved to DC as a Capital Fellow and has since been on staff of McLean Presbyterian Church in other roles. She has a heart for people to be known deeply through relationships and community, but also to know how much they are loved and known by their Father. She is currently in a masters program at Marymount University for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. When she’s not working or studying, you can find her walking or running, searching the city for the best pizza and ice cream, and sitting on the porch with friends. 


Bill Clark

Professor - Identity and Relationships


Bill is a licensed psychologist with a practice in Reston, Virginia. He is also the Director and Co-Founder of the Lay Counselor Institute. He serves as an adjunct professor at Cairn University and Reformed Theological Seminary. Bill was trained by Dr. Larry Crabb and Dr. Dan Allender at Grace Seminary, where he received an MA in Biblical Counseling. He also has a BA from the College of William & Mary, an MA in Theology from Fuller Seminary and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland. Bill and his wife, Debbie, live in Fairfax County, Virginia.


Bill Fullilove

Professor - Biblical Theology


Bill is Assistant Pastor of Community and Discipleship at McLean Presbyterian Church. He is also Associate Professor of Old Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary, New York City. Previously, Bill was Assistant Professor of Old Testament and Academic Dean at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta. He was also the founding director of the Capital Fellows Program. Bill has a PhD in Semitic and Egyptian Languages and Literature from The Catholic University of America, an MDiv from Reformed Theological Seminary and a BA from Princeton University. Bill, his wife, Jill, and their two children live in Arlington, Virginia.


James Forsyth

Instructor - Life and Leadership


James has been the Senior Pastor of McLean Presbyterian Church since 2013, after serving as Assistant Pastor for five years. He co-leads Life and Leadership, the spiritual formation course for the Capital Fellows program. In addition to his responsibilities at McLean Presbyterian Church, James teaches homiletics at Reformed Theological Seminary and is a sought-after speaker at conferences and retreats. James holds a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts (Divinity) from the University of Edinburgh. James was born in Scotland on the Isle of Lewis and grew up in Edinburgh. James, his wife, Rosie, and their four children live in Fairfax County, Virginia.


Irwyn Ince

Professor - Leadership, Vocation and Society


Irwyn serves as a pastor at Grace DC Presbyterian Church and Director of the newly formed Grace DC Institute for Cross-Cultural Mission. Dr. Ince is a graduate of City College of NY, Reformed Theological Seminary, and Covenant Theological Seminary. After an eleven year career with Motorola as a systems engineer and project engineering manager, he began full time ministry at Mount Zion Covenant Church in Bowie, MD. Mount Zion merged with New Town Church to plant City of Hope Presbyterian Church, where he served as Senior Pastor from 2007-2017. He has contributed to the books Heal Us Emmanuel: A Call for Racial Reconciliation, Representation, and Unity in the Church, and All Are Welcome: Toward a Multi-Everything Church, and has a forthcoming book with InterVarsity Press entitled Beautiful Community: Cultivating the Life of Unity in Diversity as God's Image. Irwyn and his wife, Kim, have been married 27 years, and have four children - Jelani, Nabil, Zakiya, and Jeremiah.


David Stephenson

Instructor - Life and Leadership


David is the Assistant Pastor of Missions and Church Planting at McLean Presbyterian Church. Previously, he was the Senior Pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama. He has also been a church planting fellow at Briarwood Presbyterian Church and student pastor at Cornerstone Church. David co-leads the Life and Leadership spiritual formation course for the Capital Fellows program. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando and a BS from the University of Tennessee. David, his wife, Kelly, and their three sons live in Fairfax County, Virginia.
